Vietnam attracts visitors from all over the world for a variety of different reasons. Whatever your reason for entering Vietnam, all visitors travelling to the country for the very first time will be required to have the correct Vietnam visa type in place before they arrive. There are many different types of visas available for visitors entering Vietnam which can make the process of applying for a visa seem both daunting and confusing. Applying for a visa can take time, as Vietnamese visa officials need to process and review all of the visa applications they receive properly. Because of this, you should leave plenty of time to apply for you visa before your proposed entry date into Vietnam.

– NG1 and NG2: This Vietnam visa type is granted to members of official delegations invited to Vietnam a governmental body and guests of equivalent ranks. These guests and ranks include: presidents and vice presidents, ministers and vice ministers, of committees provinces. (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).
– NG3: This visa type is granted to members of foreign missions and their accompanying immediate relatives (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).
– NG4: This visa type is granted to members of foreign missions or the visitors that are travelling to the company to visit them in the short term (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).
– LV1: This visa type is issued to individuals who are working for the Party Central Committee, National Assembly, the President, Government and guests of equivalent ranks of the ministers, vice ministers, presidents and vice presidents of committees provinces and cities directly under the Central Government (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).
– LV2: Granted to the person(s) working for social organizations, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).
– ĐT: This visa is issued to individuals who are entering Vietnam in order to either invest in Vietnamese business or to Lawyers who are visiting the country to practice their profession. (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 60 months).
– DN: This Vietnam visa type is issued to individuals who are entering the country to do business with Vietnamese companies in either the short of the term (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).
– NN1, NN2 and NN3: This visa type is issued to those individuals who are visiting Vietnam in order to conduct business or visit businesses that are based in Vietnam. These business types can include: economic organisations, cultural organisations and other professional bodies that are based in Vietnam in a non-professional capacity. – DH: The Vietnam visa type is issued to individuals who are entering Vietnam in order to either study or undergo an internship in the country. (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).
– HN: This is a short term visa that is issued to business individuals who are visiting Vietnam in order to attend business meetings or conferences in the country. (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).
– PV1: This Vietnam visa type is granted to permanent journalists, reporters and broad casters who are visiting Vietnam for professional reasons. (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 12 months).

– VR: This Vietnam visa type is granted to individuals who are entering the country in order to visit with relatives residing there. (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 6 months).
– SQ: This visa type is issued to Vietnam diplomatic missions abroad for individuals who have a working relationship with the competent authorities Vietnam visa abroad and spouses, children or who have written request of the competent authority in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country (This Vietnam visa type is for a maximum 30 days).
